| Open Year-round 706-745-4786 Misty Mountain Inn is a Victorian farmhouse renovated to provide four spacious guest rooms. Furnished with antiques and queen-sized bed, each room has private bath and fireplace. Three rooms have balconies. Complimentary breakfast is available until noon for Inn guests. Pets cannot stay in the Inn, however, they are welcome in any of the six mountainside cottages in the surrounding woods. *Awarded 4 Paws* by "Pets Welcome"

Lofted Bedroom Cottages for More than Two Cottages $110* plus $13.20 taxes. Double occupancy, $15 plus $1.80 taxes for each additional person in Oak, Pinecone or Poplar Cottages. No meals included. Pet fee is $20 per pet per visit. Bed & Breakfast $90* plus $10.80 taxes. Double occupancy, including full breakfast. * No minimum stay except on Holidays and during July & October, but it's $20 extra for one-night stays. Policies: Reservations must be guaranteed with Mastercard or Visa. Cancellation notice within 72-hours of expected arrival has no penalty fee; less notice will be charged a half-night fee. Rates for 2009 Bed & Breakfast $515 including taxes. Double occupancy, including full breakfast. Policies: Reservations must be guaranteed by a deposit of $100.00. A 50% refund is given with cancellation notice of up to 14-days before the expected arrival, or 25% of the deposit is refunded with 7-day notice. No refund is given with less than a 7-day cancellation notice. In all cases, the entire deposit may be applied to guarantee another reservation within a year's time of canceled reservation.

Mountain Model Railroad
Misty Mountain Model Railroad is America's largest O-gauge train display -- a 3,400 square foot layout with 14 O-gauge Lionel trains traveling on a mile of track over 12 bridges and 4 trestles and through 15 tunnels. |
Its creator,“Engineer” Charles Griffin opens the Misty Mountain Railroad for a one-hour tour beginning promptly at 2 pm. Donations for local charities are requested. Group visits by special appointment; contact Mr. Griffin at 706.745.9819. The layout is a fantasy journey through sights and cities in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Highlights include a 6' bridge that raises to allow visitors to enter the display and a 17' trestle recreated in Tallulah Gorge, the deepest gorge East of the Mississippi. Some 300 pieces from Department 56 are sprinkled throughout communities such as Gainesville (GA), Copperhill (TN), Helen (GA), Kennesaw (GA), Atlanta & Biltmore Estates (NC) Other Highlights: Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, Hiawassee, GA ~ Brasstown Bald Mountain, Blairsville, GA ~ Brasstown Valley Resort, Young Harris, GA ~ In Man Yard and Atlanta Underground, Atlanta, GA ~ Stone Mountain Park ~ Battle of Kennesaw, Civil War replica ~Tara, Gone with the Wind replica ~ Copperhill Mines and TVA in Tennessee
Watercolor Weekend by Gail
Novak Instructor Gail Novak has worked with watercolor medium for the past 15 years. Her work can be seen at Art & Soul Gallery in Blairsville, Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Center, and Burton Gallery in Clarkesville. Her classes explore color theory, design and painting techniques. Every session has a different focus and can be enjoyed by beginning and advanced artists. She regularly teaches at Spruill Center for the Arts in Atlanta and Quilan Arts Center in Gainesville. A graduate of Florida State University, she also studied with renowned John Pike, AWS, at his school in Woodstock, NY, during four summer sessions. Further studies included instruction from several other nationally known professionals such as Claude Croney, AWS; Zoltan Szabo, Tony Van Hasselt, AWS; Arthur Barbour, AWS; and Tony Couch. Painting from life or photos from her travels, Ms. Novak has received numerous awards from shows and competitions throughout the Southeast. Her subject matter is varied, but her objective is always to create a painting that visually conveys the actual feeling of a scene. Instruction fee: $150

Directions to Misty Mountain Inn & Cottages From the Atlanta, GA Airport ~ As you leave the airport, US85 and 75 are the same road. Then take US75 North straight through downtown heading toward Marietta. Turn onto 575 at exit 268. US575 soon becomes 515 North; there's no exit necessary. Then follow directions to Misty Mountain Inn below. From the Chattanooga, TN Airport ~ Travel via US75 Northeast toward Cleveland, TN. Turn onto US64 going East toward Murphy, North Carolina. Before Murphy, you'll turn right onto US129/19 heading South to Blairsville, GA. Stay on 129/19 South through Blairsville, GA. From South Carolina ~ We recommend travel to Blairsville via US 76 going west at Clemson toward Clayton, Georgia. On Highway 76, Blairsville is about an hour west of Clayton. You'll go through Hiawassee and then Young Harris toward Blairsville. Blairsville has three stop lights on 76. At the third you exit left onto Route 129/19 South – passing McDonald’s on the right, coming to “T” intersection where you turn left and follow signs to Vogel State Park. Directions to Misty Mountain Inn at Blairsville ~ Exit where Routes 515/76 intersect with Routes 129/19, go South following signs to Vogel State Park. In Blairsville, you will pass Union County's Old Courthouse, go about 2.5 miles to the Owltown Market & Gas Station and Owl's Nest Antiques. Turn left onto Town Creek Road (no sign visible) just beyond the billboard sign Alexander's Store. On your right there is a green information sign reads Trackrock Gap Archeological Area. In 3.5 miles, look for Misty Mountain on the right; entrance road is both before and after our sign. Approaching from South
